Remember, your diabetic cholesterol levels are extra important for you as a diabetic because of your increased risk of having heart and cardiovascular disease. Diabetic LDL cholesterol levels should be under 100 mg/dL and diabetic HDL levels should be above 40 mg/dL. You want your diabetic LDL cholesterol to be lower and your diabetic HDL cholesterol levels to be higher. You want to minimize the ratio of LDL/HDL cholesterol. The first bar is at our diagnosis as a type 2 diabetic. The subsequent bars are follow up tests as we continue to optimize our dietary control of diabetes and lifestyle reform as a type 2 diabetic.

These results are from practicing the lifestyle intervention changes described here at the Diabetes Life Guide and practicing dietary control of diabetes as described at the sister site to the Diabetes Life Guide, Diabetic Life Diet: Dietary Control of Diabetes. There you can find out what is a diabetic diet really, read discussions about what diabetic diet tips are the best and even learn about the 'nearly' vegetarian diabetic diet plan for dietary control of diabetes and how you can be your own diabetic diet guide for controlling your own type 2 diabetes.
